Halloween is fast approaching and all you avid readers will be looking for something spooky to read during the witching hours! Well, I have a special treat for you - The Voodoo Romance series by Janice Horton. Read my review and then Janice herself has some exciting news to share...............
Voodoo Child by Janice Horton - Review
Nola and Louis are expecting their first child and there is much excitement about the imminent arrival from Louis' family in New Orleans. When the baby is born, Nola and Louis are expected to fly to New Orleans with their child to help fulfil Uncle Sid's dying wish - that the child be baptised in a voodoo ceremony in the River Bayou. Louis continues to fight against his voodoo heritage but Nola seems to embrace it wholeheartedly, causing some friction between the couple. Combined with on-going disagreements about the baby's name and a mysterious painting, this trip is going to be anything but dull!
Having read the other two books in the series I was thrilled that once again Janice Horton has produced a wonderful novella that has an air of mystery as well as humour about it. Following the story of ex fashion model and one time snob Nola and her super sexy doctor husband Louis, originally from Haiti, the book is the third in the series. The characters in the novella are all interesting and unique and the storyline is fascinating. I have loved seeing how the characters have developed and grown throughout this series. The transformation of Nola herself is particularly interesting. She has gone from a complete sceptic were voodoo is concerned to being very open-minded about the whole topic! This is the perfect little book for sitting down in front of a roaring fire with and listening to the wind beating against the window - which is exactly how I read it! Perfect for Halloween reading! Plus, you also get to learn a little about Voodoo! Congratulations to Janice Horton on another fantastic piece of writing.
