Book
info:
She's back to right her wrongs.
When Tanya Todd returns to Templeton Cove, she knows better than
to expect a warm welcome. She burned a few bridges on her way out of town, and
making amends won't be easy. First on her list is the man whose heart she
carelessly shattered, Liam Browne.
Seeing the successful criminal lawyer after all these years, Tanya
is interested in more than just Liam's forgiveness. As they work together to
bring the man who hurt her sister to justice, the attraction between them
sizzles. Suddenly Tanya's second chance could include a future with Liam…if she
can prove she's changed.
Author
Interview
Do you write under your real name or is this a pen name you use?
I
write under my real name – it’s unusual enough that I was pretty confident I
wouldn’t be confused with another author!
Where are you from?
I’m
originally from Bristol, England which is famous for it maritime history during
the 19th century – also its part in the slave trade, which I am not
proud of. Since 2001, I have lived in a small market town near the famous city
of Bath.
Did you write as a child?
Yes!
I was inspired to write my own stories after reading Enid Blyton’s Secret Seven
series when I was seven or eight. I continued to write on and off for years,
but it wasn’t until 2005 that I started seriously working toward publication.
What was the first thing you ever had published?
I
had several short stories published online and in magazines after winning
competitions. The Wild Rose Press published my first novel, Searching For
Sophie in 2007.
Do you have a writing routine?
I am
lucky enough to be able to write full-time so I write from 8.30am to 5.30pm in
the week and as much as family commitments allow at the weekends.
Do you have any writing rituals?
Not
really – although I need silence to create but can edit and polish with family
chaos going on around me anytime!
Do you have a current work in progress?
Always!
I am currently working on the first draft of what I hope will be book 6 in my
Harlequin Templeton Cove series. I am also researching a historical novel – but
still undecided between two ideas I have.
Where did the idea for your book come from?
Her
Hometown Redemption was born from two secondary characters (Tanya Todd &
Liam Browne) who appeared in book 3, What Belongs To Her. In that book, there
is a hint of something happening between these two in the past. It wasn’t long
before Tanya started nudging me to write their story!
Who was the first person you gave the book to to read?
Aside
from my three wonderful critique partners, the first person I gave the
published novel to was a dear friend and die-hard Templeton Cove fan…whose
surname matches two of my heroines, Jackie Todd.
Do you have any advice for budding authors?
Write
and submit! There is no easy way into this business and the only way to learn
is to practice and then have the courage to submit your work to agents and
publishers. I started my career by entering novel first chapter contests and
the feedback I received was invaluable and definitely worth the entry fees.
Thanks so much to Rachel for this fab interview. Lets find out a
little more about Rachel before you enter the giveaway.
