Book Blurb
When the village of Steeple Martin announces
its first beer festival, the locals are excited. Beer, sun and music, what
could possibly go wrong?
But when an unexpected death shakes the village, it’s up to Libby Sarjeant and friends to solve the puzzle.
Was it just another rock star death or is there something more sinister afoot?

AUTHOR INTERVIEW
Do you write under your real name or is this a pen name you
use?
No – real name
Where are you from?
Born in Surrey, childhood in London and
Ood age (!) in Kent.
List 3 interesting facts about yourself.
I once flew over
Delhi in a glider, I was held up by armed police in Lagos and flew into Aden in
a sabotaged aircraft.
What was the first thing you ever had published?
Apart from
a treasure map in the local paper when I was 8, a piece for Which Computer on
the very first desktop computers.
Do you have a writing routine?
Er...theoretically, yes. In
practice, no. It’s all rather haphazard and depends on whether I have any of
the boomerang offspring living here.
Do you have any writing rituals?
Only radio/music. Keeps me
from being lonely.
Where did the idea for your most recent book come from?
My
eldest son.
Who was the first person you shared your book with?
My
editor.
Do you have a current work in progress?
Yes, the 19th
in the Libby Sarjeant series.
Do you have any advice for budding authors?
The advice I
used to give my students: Read, Read,
Read. And don’t tell me you haven’t got time. If you haven’t got time to read,
how can you have time to write? And – how can you want to?
About the Author
Lesley
Cookman writes the Libby Sarjeant Mysteries and the Edwardian mystery series,
The Alexandrians. She has a varied background as a model, an air stewardess
(when it was posh), a nightclub DJ (in a silver sparkly catsuit), editor of a
Music Hall magazine, The Call Boy, a magazine called The Poulty Farmer, and
pantomime writer and director. She lives on the Kent coast and has four grown
up children who are variously musicians and writers, two grandchildren and two
cats, not necessarily in that order.
