If you are looking for a thriller with a difference then this book ticks all the boxes. Covering a range of sensitive issues, this book is full of secrets, tragedy and a story that kept me gripped. Given the sensitivity of some of the topics within the plot, it may not appeal to everyone but I feel its worth that risk. Some secrets are meant to be discovered but what will the fallout be and are the characters Maddy and Zara ready to face the stark reality of the danger that lies within their very own family. But, for Maddy time is running out to make sure history does not repeat itself. There are some things she cannot leave for others to face.
I'm always particularly drawn to books with a slightly paranormal element to them too and this book delivers that also. There are skeletons falling out of cupboards all over the place! A very dark read that had me totally gripped. I really enjoyed Nicola Avery's writing style and the way she leaves little clues scattered throughout. I was able to read this book during my lunch hours this week in work. I was not happy about having to put the book down and get back to work. Its an addictive read. Sometimes seemingly perfect lives are broken more than the outside world gets to see. Its difficult to say too much about the plot of this book without giving the entire story away but lets just say its a highly recommended read from me.
