A murdered woman…

When the body of a young woman is found in a local park, DC Maggie Jamieson knows she’s dealing with no ordinary killer.  The murder victim has been disfigured; her outfit changed to resemble someone else.  Someone Maggie knows all too well…her close friend Dr Kate Moloney.

A determined detective…

Maggie is determined to keep her friend safe, but with Kate already struggling with a threatening stalker, Maggie now fears Kate’s life is in real danger.  Who else would want to harm Kate and why else would the killer be turning his victims into exact replicas – his living dolls?

Can Maggie find the depraved killer?  Or will Kate become his next living doll?

Oh this book! Totally made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and made me a little bit nervous when I was out jogging in the dark!

Maggie Jamieson is back and oh boy is she up against a tough case. With a stalker on the loose, Maggie finds herself having to call upon all her reserves of strength to keep going through this case. Although she is a tough nut there's also a vulnerability about her and when she cares for someone she really cares and will do everything in her power to protect the ones she loves. This stalker however is a stalker with a difference. He's killer and one with a strange fetish -  living dolls! The things he does to his victims before leaving them to be discovered sends a chill through all involved in the case, particularly Maggie. Her friend Kate is in danger from this killer and Maggie feels conflicted about her ability to perform her duties because its now gotten personal for her. She really can't afford to make any mistakes and the killer is enjoying antagonising her and leading her down a path that Maggie needs to be very careful of. It's most certainly a game of cat and mouse...........but who will win the game? At times its not very clear cut and lots of surprises for the reader are in store. I love how Maggie is such a multidimensional character and can sometimes be unpredictable.  This character trait is something that kept me interested in her and the story. The story is exciting, gripping and interesting.

I recommend you read this book with all the lights on and a large G&T in your hand for courage! I absolutely loved loved loved it! Paced just right to scare me half to death, let me breathe again and then scare me all over again, Noelle Holten has truly surpassed herself with this book. The twists and turns left me exhausted! A highly recommended read from an amazing author who just seems to be going from strength to strength.
