Lottie Daniels is dancing up the altar in Canada when she realises her whirlwind wedding is a big mistake. Chad isn't the right person for her at all! And, in that moment, Lottie goes from dancing bride to runaway bride.
Much to her brother's relief, Lottie decides to return to Bramblewood in the UK. But life has more surprises in store for her. After rescuing both a donkey and a little old lady called Doris - all with the help of a handsome stranger! - Lottie suddenly becomes a big part of Doris's life. And in return for her company and doing bits around the farm, Doris offers her the barn to run her dance classes.
From broken dreams to second chances, Lottie finally has a chance to rebuild her life. And with an exciting dance audition to prepare for, who knows what might happen next?!
You are guaranteed to fall head over heels with this sweet and charming romance.
I just adore a book that builds a sense of community with its characters and so far all of Annette Hannah's books have done just that. Once again through Lottie's School of Dance this time, we are transported back to the absolutely wonderful Bramblewood where the wonderful cast of characters show us what true love really looks like. Though I would like to point out that this book can 100% be read as a standalone.
In Lottie's School of Dance we are treated ( and it really is a treat) to Lottie's story which starts at a wedding of all places. Unfortunately for Lottie, things don't go according to plan and she has an epiphany about her future husband and makes a run for it. Think runaway bride with dancing shoes! Like every good escapee bride, she needs a place of safety, surrounded by those she loves and who love her. However, a chance encounter with the wonderful Denni the donkey, a very hot looking Italian dancer and a muddy ditch plus poor old Doris a lonely older lady who has had a mishap and we have all the ingredients for another Bramblewood love story. And with any good love story, the path to true love definitely doesn't run smoothly for our dancing duo.
Throughout the novel, we see Lottie's attempts at trying to rebuild her life without any romantic complications. But, the heart wants what the heart wants and after accidently becoming involved in a tv dance competition, opening a dance school and being adopted by the very lovely Doris, Lottie's life has more twists and turns than a good old fashioned tango!
What I loved about this book was that firstly the sexual chemistry between Lottie and Marco was hotter than a fiery salsa! Secondly, I adored the older characters in the book. They added such warmth, love and compassion with a fair amount of comedy too. They were full of surprises! Doris was such a beautiful person and I want her to be my grandmother! Lottie's School of Dance shows us that second chances can happen in the most unexpected ways with the most wonderful of people. It showed that we need to open our eyes to every possibility no matter how insane it might seem at the time. And, it also showed that love can happen to anyone, at any age and from any background. We just have to open ourselves up to the possibilities. I loved Lottie's tireless efforts to make everyone around her happy, even if she sometimes forgot about herself. This is a fantastic book. I started reading it on holiday and just adored it. If you want a lovely book to read then this is it. It will restore your faith in love. And dance! So cha cha cha yourself to Amazon and pick up a copy. Highly recommended.
