Just One Time by K.S Hunter
Release Date: 7th December 2017
Publisher: VAD Publishing
Genres:  Thriller

The first novel by K.S. Hunter, the alter ego of an international bestselling author, whose identity will remain a secret.

Desire can have dire consequences
Two years ago, David Madden made a mistake that almost cost him his marriage. His wife, Alison, gave him another chance, but she has not forgotten, nor has she forgiven.

She is irresistible
Then David meets the alluring Nina at a theatre in London. When he loses his phone in the dark, she helps him find it, and by giving her his number he unwittingly invites her into his life.

What David initially views as an innocent flirt turns into a dangerous game of deception. His increasingly suspicious wife thinks something is up, and each lie he tells pushes them further apart.
She is insatiable

Nina pursues David relentlessly, following him to New York where she gives him an ultimatum: sleep with her, just one time, and then she’ll get out of his life forever; or she’ll ruin everything he holds dear.
She is unstoppable

Of course, once won’t be enough for Nina, and what David hoped would be the end is merely the beginning.

A modern-day Fatal Attraction, Just One Time is a steamy psychological thriller that will have you hooked from the first page and holding your breath until its shocking conclusion.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Do you write under your real name or is this a pen name you use?

K.S. Hunter is a pen name. I have published three novels under my real name. One of them was a UK top ten bestseller and it also reached number one in Australia. Just One Time is fairly different from my other novels, and I really do push the boundaries at times, so that made me decide to adopt a new author identity for its release.

Where are you from?

I’m from the UK and live near London.

List 3 interesting facts about yourself.

1.       I was born only this year.

2.       I wrote my first book when I was sixteen years old. That story ended up being my first published novel about a decade later.

3.       When I was eighteen, I wrote a play. It’s a murder mystery and it is something I plan to revisit soon.

What was the first thing you ever had published?

My first novel was a crime drama. It was something I wrote as a teenager and then it sat in a cupboard for several years. I wish I could tell you its title, but obviously I can’t because as K.S. Hunter my debut novel is Just One Time!

Do you have a writing routine?

No. I wish I were disciplined, but I write sporadically and never often enough. I know I should write every day, but I don’t. Writing fiction is painful for me, if I’m honest, but I do love the result of the labour. In addition, I don’t just write fiction and most of the other things I write take priority as they’re always to tight deadlines.

Do you have any writing rituals?

With the majority of Just One Time, it was to keep the bottle of Jack Daniel’s flowing, much like the main character, David, who turns to it in his hours of need. I’m not suggesting that writing the novel was my hour of need!

Where did the idea for your most recent book come from?

Just One Time starts with David Madden dashing to a theatre in London as he’s late to see a play. When he gets there, he drops his phone in the dark. He can’t find it and, when he’s crawling around on all fours, the woman who is sitting next to him asks him for the number so that she can call it to help him locate it. When he tells her the number, something in his head says, ‘I’m giving a stranger my phone number’. This exact thing happened to me. When I arrived home, I wondered what would happen if that person contacted me and then wouldn’t leave me alone. Suffice to say, she didn’t, but it got my imagination going and the book evolved from there.

Who was the first person you shared your book with?

No one reads my work while I write it. I don’t like anyone to see it until it’s finished. After that, a few friends and family.

Do you have a current work in progress?

I’ve started the next novel. At the moment, it has the potential to go one of two ways: it could be a new steamy psychological thriller by K.S. Hunter, if sales of Just One Time warrant a second novel, or I can see how it could become a sequel to my bestselling crime thriller. At the moment, I’m waiting to see which way it will go and I am, of course, using that as an excuse to do nothing else with it.

Do you have any advice for budding authors?

If you wish to be traditionally published, you will need an agent, but persevere as most will say no to you. Expect a lot of any agent that takes you on. Be vocal if you disagree with their advice and hold them to account. Then you won’t find yourself in a disappointing position because, remember, getting an agent (which is a huge achievement) does not mean you will get published.
