Hello! Welcome to Brook Cottage Books! So, what's it all about? Well, as you can see, the blog is called Brook Cottage Books. In the bookish world I am known by the name JB Johnston and this is the name I sometimes write under. I also work under the name Debbie Johnston! (When contacting me please use one of those names. I am not called Brook, Brooke, Ms Cottages or any other variation of Brook Cottages). I am currently writing my own book while I review and promote books for various sites, publishers and individual authors. You can check out my own personal writing  journey and book related stuff over at my instagram account. Just search for jb.johnston

I am also a member of the Romantic Novelists Association New Writers Scheme.

I was an intern with Safkhet Publishing where I was a Marketing Assistant and Editorial Assistant and was the editor for Little White Lies and Butterflies by Suzie Tullett. I was also a book tour
coordinator organising and running virtual book tours for authors.  I'm currently taking a sabbatical from organising book tours to concentrate on my own writing but do feel free to contact me about other ways I could help you promote your book.  I am a beta reader for some authors which I really enjoy.

I review books from my own personal bookshelf also and support a variety of Indie authors. I was a monthly contributor on Siren FM radio for the show 'Books Rock' which was hosted by author Nicky Wells. I'm a Lifestyle reviewer for the award winning Loveahappyending.com Lifestyle magazine as well as a columnist with my own column called Home Help. The magazine won the 2013 Romance Industry "Innovation in Romantic Fiction" award. I was shortlisted for Romance Blogger of the Year 2013 in the Romance Industry Awards.  I am involved with the Plum Tree  Books Group and regularly read and review books for www.lovereading.co.uk  where I am on the review panel.

I was also the personal assistant of the amazingly talented Karen Long, author of the Eleanor Raven series of book but I'm spending more time concentrating on my own writing and trying to get published myself.

I've been lucky enough to be a panelist twice at the Open House Festival book clubs, reading reviewing and discussing books.

Hi JB, I would LOVE to have you review some books for me. I have my own book marketing company. I often have authors who need quality reviews. I'd send you the ebooks for free of course. You'd just need to let me know what genres you love. It is very easy going and if you are too busy, just pass on a book. Easy! I really hope to add you to my growing book blogger team!
