Hello! Welcome to Brook Cottage Books! So, what's it all about? Well, as you can see, the blog is called Brook Cottage Books. In the bookish world I am known by the name JB Johnston and this is the name I write under. Real name Debbie. Although I remain an unpublished author I am still writing away and currently working on book 4! Book 1 is a romantic family Saga set in 1980's Ireland and Italy. Book 2 is a historical romantic saga set just after WW1 and book 3 is a contemporary romance. Book 4 doesn't know what it wants to be just yet! I do continue to review and promote books for various sites, publishers and individual authors though not as often as I used to, concentrating on my own writing for now. You can check out my own personal writing journey and book related stuff over at my Instagram account. You can find it here - Instagram
I am also a member of the Romantic Novelists Association New Writers Scheme, regularly attending their events where I have made many new forever friends.

I have been a book tour coordinator organising and running virtual book tours for authors. I'm currently taking a sabbatical from organising book tours to concentrate on my own writing but do feel free to contact me about other ways I could help you promote your book. I am a beta reader for some authors which I really enjoy.
I review books from my own personal bookshelf also and support a variety of Indie authors. I was a monthly contributor on Siren FM radio for the show 'Books Rock' which was hosted by author Nicky Wells. I was a Lifestyle reviewer for the award winning Loveahappyending.com
Lifestyle magazine as well as a columnist with my own column called Home Help. The magazine won the 2013 Romance Industry "Innovation in
Romantic Fiction" award. I was shortlisted for Romance Blogger of the Year 2013 in the Romance Industry Awards.
I was also the personal assistant of the amazingly talented Karen Long, author of the Eleanor Raven series of book. I've been lucky enough to be a panellist twice at the Open House Festival book clubs, reading reviewing and discussing books with local authors and celebrities. I was even on a panel at one of the Romantic Novelists' Association conferences.

I'm a book club girlie who wants to write the type of books that other book club girlies talk about! I love to be out and about in nature when I'm not writing and dream of a day when writing becomes my full time career.
Wish there were more people like you who just LOVE books.
Hey, JB! You are my sunshine and so that you totally know it... here's a Sunshine Award for you: http://wp.me/p1HzVM-18m Happy blogging, and thanks SO very much for everything you do. Rock on! XX
PS ~ if this isn't a good time or you're too busy to accept, I'll totally understand. It's just for a bit of fun, really, so don't worry! XX
Hi JB, I would LOVE to have you review some books for me. I have my own book marketing company. I often have authors who need quality reviews. I'd send you the ebooks for free of course. You'd just need to let me know what genres you love. It is very easy going and if you are too busy, just pass on a book. Easy! I really hope to add you to my growing book blogger team!
Alana Munro.
