Goodness me, its all about the local girls from Northern Ireland on the blog this week! I'm delighted to be sharing my review for Miss Isobel and the Prince by the very talented Catherine Tinley. This is the second book in the series but please don't be put off by that as I had absolutely no problem getting into the story and understanding the main characters and their backgrounds. It can totally be read as a standalone novel and works very well this way. By all means go back and read book 1 of the series as I think, based on this book that you're definitely in for a treat.

For all you Bridgerton fans out there you will devour this book! Think lots of swooning, think handsome heroes and think beautiful heroines with a mind of their own and not afraid to voice how they feel. Strong feisty women not afraid to stand up for themselves, yet knowing when to act demure and alluring when they need to. Imagine gorgeous dresses and the Queen picking her diamond for the season. I just loved it!

In this book we are introduced to the Lennox triplets, now moving on with the next stage of their life. They are on the move to London to their sponsor when Miss Isobel encounters at the local Inn, a very brutish young man who asks her for a kiss. She is scandalised by such a forward request but also intrigued and if truth be told, excited by it. She doubts their paths will ever cross again though.  A few weeks later while the triplets are making their debut to the Ton, Isobel is surprised and shocked to find out the young man's true identity. But, not as surprised as Claudio is to discover that the woman he hasn't been able to get out of his mind is one of a triplet!

This is a fantastic enemies to lovers story which was just oozing with frustration, anger, stubbornness and desire all rolled into one. Catherine Tinley's writing style is so beautiful and the language rich and really perfectly sets the scene for this time period. A real sense of time and place. Clearly a lot of research had gone in to this book and the story had such an authentic feel. A fabulous world to get lost in.

I enjoyed the little bit of mystery that the triplet's search for their true ancestry brought to the plot too and really looked forward to finding out more about them as the book progressed.  The story kept me interested and invested in all the characters even when they frustrated the life out of me at times and I wanted to knock some sense into them. A highly recommended read for lovers of historical romance.
