Thanks Charlotte!
On the blog today we have the lovely Charlotte Hains here as part of her book tour. I asked Charlotte the question:
Why did you decide to write erotic fiction?
As most people will know I read Fifty Shades of Grey, Whilst chatting with my sister, she asked me if I had read it, well of course I had. Everyone was reading it. She challenged me to write, as she said that I had always been very creative and I should have a go. At first I laughed at her and said don’t be so stupid. I then saw a blog which was saying that Fifty Shades had fallen short of what people thought the book was about, BDSM. I started doing a little research on BDSM and I quickly realised that maybe something had been missed; BDSM is mainly about “The art of control”. Anyone can bully, control or take advantage of someone who has a vulnerable demeanour, be it man and women. A sad fact of life. But being in control equally is a different matter or seems to be, this is what I started to realise when I started getting into what I was reading, and yes, just the same as conventional relationships you have good and bad in both. People taking things to the nth degree, Unfortunately for BDSM, people only seem to hear the real bad press it collates from people that are extremists within the practice, and not the other side of trust, respect, and equal control on both side between consenting adults, which is what I have tried to portray within Introducing Charlotte, (I hope I have done it justice). So if anything the reason for me writing erotic fiction was mainly curiosity and a bit of fun to amuse my sister to while away the longs dark nights of winter.

ABOUT CHARLOTTE HAINS
Charlotte Hains left the UK for France after deciding she
needed a change, taking on the huge project of renovating a house. In the UK
her life consisted of getting up, going to work, coming home, going to bed, and
just surviving. She now enjoys French life within the community of the village
in which she lives, and feels privileged to be part of it. She describes her
French neighbours as fantastic, offering her help in every way they can, and
says she might have given up long ago if they hadn’t been so understanding.
With her house nearly finished she found herself with
long nights and lots of thumb twiddling, reading anything she could get on her
iPad. In honesty, she admits it was here that Fifty Shades of Grey caught
her eye. Unbeknownst to her, her sister was reading it as well. Her sister
thought that, because Charlotte has such a creative side, maybe she’d be able
to write a book too. As a joke, Charlotte emailed her sister her stories, also
written on her iPad. She researched blogs and BDSM sites on the internet, and
so Introducing Charlotte came alive. Before she knew it, Charlotte had
over 150,000 words which she’d sent by email in instalments to her sister, and
there was more than enough for a book...or maybe even two!
