The Girl With A Twirl is a fun little book that is bound to keep all wannabe ballroom dancers twirling around the room with excitement. Mabel is a sourly sort of kid who feels she doesn't have too many positive things going for her. Like everyone else, she has embarrassing parents although Mabel is pretty sure that none are as bad as hers! She also needs a dance partner for a big upcoming dance competition but where on earth is she going to find one amongst a town full of oldies! Mabel thinks her life sucks! However, a trip to her auntie's house soon begins to unravel a lot of mysteries (a bit like auntie's crochet), and Mabel finds herself intrigued by the dance legend 'The Silver Shadow!' Who on earth is this mysterious whirlwind who sweeps Mabel off her feet...........literally! What a dancer! And, what secrets is her dear, sweet old Auntie hiding from her?

This great book is one that every young reader will love. Aimed specifically at young females with or without a passion for dancing and all things ballroom,  parents will have just as much fun reading this with their daughter. The book has lots of cringe-worthy moments for poor Mabel and lots of humour too. With a few life lessons thrown in too, such as 'Don't judge a book by its cover' this is an enjoyable book for the intended target audience.
