Series: Mishaps in Millrise book 3
Release Date: 30th July 2015
Genres: Romance / Romantic Comedy
This third book in the series sees us back in Millrise with Jack and Phoebe and this time Phoebe is slightly in shock at the revelation that she is pregnant. How on earth will she tell Jack, particularly as things are still so rocky with his brother and Phoebe and Jack's mother hate each other with a vengeance. As always, Phoebe's friend Midnight is there to lend a listening ear and her own unique brand of advice. I love this girl!

A shock development turns Phoebe’s
world upside-down. But it’s one that Jack has difficulty coming to terms with
too, and they seem to be growing further and further apart. Archie continues to
stir up trouble between them, until one night his reckless actions almost end
in tragedy. And he’s not the only one causing problems in Phoebe’s life, as Midnight
adds her own peculiar spanner in the works.
Phoebe buries herself in her job, and it looks as though Hendry’s might actually be on the road to financial recovery. But if she loses Jack and Midnight, what will it all be for?

The
Parent Trap is the third instalment in the Mishaps in Millrise series.
In this book it is good to see Phoebe lose the plot with Jack's mother and give her a piece of her mind. However, I did scream a little at Jack as although he made some tentative steps to intervene and defend Phoebe I wanted him to do more! Yes I wanted him to be mean to his own mother! Tilly's writing is so good that she does create an emotive and completely irrational response in me! The woman is devious and continues to interfere throughout. Nasty! But, we do see Jack start to man up a bit to her. Although, even I am a bit afraid of her so I can understand Jack (and his father's reluctance) to challenge her!
In The Parent Trap I did start to feel a little bit more sorry for Jack's brother Archie than I had in the previous books and could start to see his character develop and evolve a lot more and despite his constant trouble making I am starting to warm to him. I love how Tilly has woven the story in such a way as to completely immerse the reader in the story and we become invested in the characters. I love everyone in this book, even mean old Jack's mother. Each makes the story interesting, quirky, fun and infuriating all at the same time. I so cannot wait to find out what happens next but then that would mean the end of the series and no-one wants that! Will Phoebe's road to happiness continue to be a rocky one? Probably! Poor Phoebe! A fab read and highly recommended!
ABOUT TILLY TENNANT
Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset,
the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire with a family of
her own. After years of dismal and disastrous jobs, including paper plate
stacking, shop girl, newspaper promotions and waitressing (she never could
carry a bowl of soup without spilling a bit), she decided to indulge her passion
for the written word by embarking on a degree in English and creative writing,
graduating in 2009 with first class honours. She wrote her first novel in 2007
during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since.
She also works as a freelance fiction editor, and considers herself very lucky
that this enables her to read many wonderful books before the rest of the world
gets them.
