The Edge of Sanity is another edgy thriller from the wonderful Sheryl Browne who has created interesting and complex characters within the book. Each is fighting their own personal battle, both real and perceived and when two worlds clash, a type of war breaks out between a good man and one who is intent on getting what he wants, no matter who gets hurt in the process. Daniel must face his demons and the man who could ultimately destroy Daniel  and his family. But, how do you reason with someone like Charlie Roberts to save your family? A drug addict who owes his dealer a lot of money is a man who cannot be reasoned with. Charlie's original intent is to pay off his dealer but toying with Daniel and his family soon becomes part of an evil game of cat and mouse that sees Charlie constantly trying to bait Daniel.  Desperate times may call for desperate measures. The story shows how one man who is good and decent, will go to any lengths to save and protect the ones he loves. The back story, which is vital to helping us understand Daniel and his family is heartbreaking and the reader feels such empathy and sympathy with him. It takes one tragedy to tear the family apart but their love for one another could ultimately be their greatest strength.

The Edge of Sanity is the type of book that I found very hard to put down. It is exciting, frightening and thrilling all at once. It kept me up very late at night reading. One chapter at a time was never enough. I needed to know what happened. The book becomes as addictive as the drugs which have lead Charlie Roberts and Daniel to this point in their lives! The plot is well planned and clever and the story is brilliantly executed. If you like psychological thrillers then this book is definitely one for you. Very highly recommended!
