Do you write under your real name or is this a pen name you
use?
It’s my real name-how boring,
right?! I would find it extremely hard
answering to anything but my name.
Where are you from?
Melbourne,
Australia.
List 3 interesting facts about yourself.
It’s easy to make me laugh, I love/hate
horror movies as I love/hate being scared, and it’s my dream to run an animal
sanctuary.
What was the first thing you ever had published?
The first thing I ever published (I was a
writer for my high school’s newspaper) was on the school’s cafeteria food.
Super exciting! First book published was I SURRENDER. Published July 2013.
Do you have a writing routine?
I need a cup of coffee to get me started. After that, I let my
characters take over.
Do you have any writing rituals?
COFFEE! And I must drink it
from my RSPCA mug. I know- I’m strange.
Where did the idea for your most recent book come from?
My most recent book is WICKED DIX, which
is Book 2 in the A HARD LOVE ROMANCE series, published by Bookouture. Book 1, DIRTY
DIX, like most of my books, came to me while I was in bed, trying (trying
being the operative word) to sleep. I’ve always wanted to write a book from a
male’s POV and I thought if I’m going to do this, then I do this with no
reservations and no safety nets.
I wanted to write a story which was such a paradox,
readers would be turning each page, desperate to find out what comes next
because let’s face facts, the storyline in DIRTY DIX isn’t exactly
conventional. And I love that. I love
that I’ve pushed some boundaries and limits. As an author, there is no greater
achievement than having a reader message you after reading your work and
expressing how much they loved your book.
I’ve always been interested in psychology and I
love New York, so the storyline wrote itself once I nutted out whom I wanted my character to be and where I wanted him to be doing these
sinful acts from.
Who was the first person you shared your book with?
My husband! He’s my sounding board for all
my ideas. Love him to bits!
Do you have a current work in progress?
I sure do. It’s so different to DIRTY DIX, and was quite challenging to
write. Watch this space!
Do you have any advice for budding authors?
Just keep swimming- (said in Dory’s voice
from FINDING NEMO.)
