Magic Under the Mistletoe by Lucy Coleman
Release Date: 5th September 2019
Publisher: Aria
Genres: Contemporary Romance

Christmas and romance are in the air...
It's December 23rd and while everyone else is rushing home for the holidays, workaholic Leesa Oliver is dreading switching on her out-of-office for the festive season. And it seems her equally driven boss, Cary Anderson, isn't relishing spending Christmas at his family's country estate either.
So together, they draft an unexpected Christmas contract: They'll spend half of the holidays with each other's families, pretending to be a couple. Leesa knows the insufferably good-looking Cary will make her Christmas more bearable, but what happens after the last of the mince pies have been eaten...?
Leesa signed off on a sensible business agreement, but somewhere, amongst the fairy lights and carols something seems to have changed... It seems there might just be some magic under the mistletoe this Christmas!

Christmas is well and truly around the corner and while I usually can’t get myself into the mood for all things Christmassy until December time, once I started to read this book I couldn’t help become a little bit excited for Christmas and all the good things it brings.  I mean just look at the amazing cover. What’s not to love!  I love Christmas and getting together with family but could totally get how Leesa and Cary might be feeling around doing the usual round of family get togethers. The expectation on them both from their respective families to have a partner pushes them together to put on a show of being a couple to save themselves the grief they’d otherwise get if single. Cary’s grandmother in particular wants to see him settled down.   But, given that their hearts were still smarting from previous relationships which had ended badly, it was clear to see why they were both a little bit reticent about taking a chance in love again.  This ‘business’ arrangement seemed like the perfect solution to their problem but I think they were both a little naive to think that it wouldn’t be without repercussions. In the end, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Lucy Coleman is the type of writer that has this amazing knack of creating interesting and easily relatable characters and not just the main characters but also in the secondary characters too. Her writing style makes it very easy to become heavily invested in the story and the outcomes for the characters. The story shows just how a broken heart can make a person wary and jaded and a little afraid of taking a chance. Of moving on. What the story shows is that Christmas can weave its magic and thaw out even the most frozen heart. I’m an absolutely mad Lucy Coleman fan as her books always make me feel so much happier after reading them.
