Run for your life...

This year's London Marathon is my last chance to win the final place on the Olympic team. The months of rehabilitation after my injury will feel worth it to cross that line.

But I wasn't expecting the man who's been making my life a living hell to be there. Last I knew, my stalker was behind bars, but he says he's going to be at the race watching.

I have 26 miles to figure out whether it's him, and what he wants, or I could lose more than just the race.

A taut psychological thriller, perfect for fans of Teresa Driscoll, TM Logan and Daniel Hirst.

Molly has a dream to be on Team GB's Olympic athletics team in Paris. Molly is a runner and a damn good one but tragedy and injury means she has a heck of a fight on her hands to realise that dream and has made sacrifices to be able to train in London. Molly's greatest chance of getting a place on the team is to complete the London Marathon in record time. A time that she's never achieved before. This is her only chance. But running for a place in Paris isn't the only thing that pushes Molly to run. She has a stalker who is hellbent on ensuring that Molly doesn't get to Paris and will do everything in their power to terrify, intimidate and make her completely paranoid. Molly doesn't know who she can trust.

The story shifts from race day in the first person - the 'Now' chapters to the 'Before' chapters in the 3rd person, alternating between what is happening to Molly as she runs the marathon to what happened in the months preceding the marathon. Each of the 'Now' chapters equates to a mile in the marathon with Molly being tormented by her stalker and with each chapter her suspicions alternate from person to person. She is truly terrified.

M.A. Hunter has managed to capture Molly's constant unease both before and during the race and each mile run almost acts as a countdown to the final conclusion and the reveal of who is trying to force Molly off the team. My only criticism is the amount of faffing about that Molly does on her phone during the marathon. I run myself and could not run while constantly checking my phone, making calls, sending messages etc without landing on my face, much less complete a marathon. That being said, its a great story and definitely worth a read. Molly's stress and paranoia is palpable throughout and M.A. Hunter does a great job in making the reader as suspicious as she is and desperate to find out who is making Molly's life a misery.
