The serial killer is behind bars. But the murders are just beginning…
DC Maggie Jamieson's past comes back to haunt her in this dark and gripping serial killer thriller.
Three missing women running out of time…
They were abducted years ago. Notorious serial killer Bill Raven admitted to killing them and was sentenced to life.
The case was closed – at least DC Maggie Jamieson thought it was…
But now one of them has been found, dismembered and dumped in a bin bag in town.
Forensics reveal that she died just two days ago, when Raven was behind bars, so Maggie has a second killer to find.
Because even if the other missing women are still alive, one thing’s for certain: they don’t have long left to live…
My goodness! Noelle Holten has done it again. What a crackingly good read! Bill Raven, self confessed murderer is now appealing his conviction, citing certain levels of incompetence from DC Maggie Jamieson. Everyone starts to doubt the conviction and the evidence it was based on when it seems the murders have not finished, despite Bill Raven being in prison. Maggie is not only against the clock trying to find out who murdered these women but also she's fighting to save her own career. And horrifically, some of the women who have been missing may actually still be alive which is terrifying! Where have they been? What have they been through?
Maggie Jamieson's character is fantastic. I'm really enjoying the strong female lead in Maggie and the reader gets to know her a little bit more. In fact, its refreshing to see so many of the strong, central characters in the book are female. The author has created a super creepy villain in Bill Raven. He reminded me a little of a Hannibal Lecter type character in the way he conducted himself and the way his mind worked. A little bit of insanity mixed with a very clever person is surely a deadly combination. I could feel myself get a little tense every time Maggie had to spend any time with him. Noelle Holten has written their interactions totally spot on and in such a way as to totally draw the reader in and become so invested in the investigation itself. I love a character I can dislike as much as the main character hates Bill Raven, or The Chopper as he's known as!
Dead Wrong has a clever plot line and an even more clever ending. The story kept me entertained and horrified all at the same time. I was gripped straight from the beginning and found the book difficult to put down. A highly recommended read!
